29.2.04 22:48 Linux and slow internet connection/browsing ( , , , )

Linux: since month I'm wondering why internet browsing on my linux box is slow. Actually it was not really slow, konqueror loads fast but it takes sometimes until it starts loading a page. Opera was fast all the time.

Today I discovered on the Suse mailing list that also other had the same problem. It is due to ipv6 activation. To disable it, you can modify the /etc/modules.conf file. Just uncomment
alias net-pf-10 ipv6

and comment in the line
alias net-pf-10 off

Now everything should be faster.
