Linux: since long time I'm using apt for rpm to install/update my Suse Linux boxes. I mainly used apt-get update, apt-get install and apt-get upgrade. Since Suse 9.0, the rpm apt tool includes many more parameters.
Instead of excuting apt-get, use apt and one of the following parameters: add, autoclean, build-dep, check, clean, depends, dist-upgrade, dotty, dselect-upgrade, dump, dumpavail, gencaches, ident, install, moo, pkgnames, policy, query, querytags, remove, script, search, shell, show, showpkg, showsrc, source, stats, unmet, update, upgrade, whatdepends
