  • Article:The perfect PC by PC Magazine.
  • Article: Using the Jakarta Commons, Part 1: description of the usage of jakarta commons components.
  • Info:Artima Technology Buzz. Nice collection of RSS feeds about different computer/development topics.
  • Software: DevEdge Netscape Sidebar Tabs: some cool sidebars for netscape 7.x and mozilla (regretfully they do not work for mozilla) for web devloppers: CSS, XSLT, HTML, JavaScript guides and references.
  • Article: http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2003/06/25/tomcat_tips.html. Top 10 tips from the O'Reilly book "Tomcat: The Definitive Guide". It's a good and short summary about tomcat configuration, avoiding that you have to read large books.
  • News: Java performance tuning newsletter no. 31. Highligst (for me) are: import statements do not affect runtime performance, it's a compiler directive. Performance tips from JavaOne.
  • Article: JDeveloper 9.05 review
  • Experience: reading Russels post about finder feature in Windows, I wanted to try it out by myself. I open a shell, copy and paste his statement in it and got the following error message "bash: fg: %SystemRoot%explorer.exe: no such job". Only then I saw that I was working under Linux. I don't know if it is good, but it shows that Linux and Windows become more and more similar on the desktop (I use windows 2000 at work, Linux with KDE at home).
  • Question: What happens with blogger PRO. I'm relativly new to blogging services, currently just using free service from blogger.com. Since I use it (3 month), the same message appears when I try to upgrade to blogger PRO: "Blogger Pro ordering is currently offline while we retool. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please check back next week.". So my qestions are: 1) does blogger PRO still exist? 2) what other public blog services are available? 3) how much do they cost? 4) Is there an overview about public blog services?. The alternative is to run my own blog server at home (using dyndns), but I trust more in professional server offerer than in my home PC :-) Please send you answers to jmau2002@web.de. By the way: blogger switch my blog today to the new interface. It's very convenient, much better than the old one, especially when using firebird.
  • Zaurus: several images of Zaurus C750 and C760 are available here. OpenZaurus has now an RSS feed. In about one month the new OpenZaurus version (3.3.1) will be available for testing, including support for SL-C700, SL-5600/SL-B500, SL-5000D/SL-5500, and Ipaq. The unstable feed contain a version from 12th of June which is probably very close the 3.1.1 testing version.
